Secant Pile Wall

is a retaining wall that is formed by a group of intersecting reinforced and non-reinforced piles that are driled using an augre.

Primary piles are installed first with secondary (Hard) piles constructed in between primary (Soft) piles once the latter gain sufficient strength.

Main advantages of secant pile walls are:

Increased construction alignment flexibility.
Increased wall stiffness compared to soldier and sheet piles.
Can be installed in hard ground like rocks and boulders.
